On January 1, 1971, the municipality of Ebersberg was incorporated into Lippoldsweiler with the village of Ebersberg and Ebersberg Castle . On July 1, 1971, the municipality of Lippoldsweiler was merged with the municipalities of Oberbrüden and Unterbrüden to form the new municipality of Auenwald. Before January 1, 1971, the municipality had an area of ​​5.47 km².
