Niederbühl is a district of the city of Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg .
geography
It lies at the foot of the northern Black Forest and is spatially separated from the main town of Rastatt by the railway line from Karlsruhe to Basel . Today the district has around 3000 inhabitants. The small town of Förch belongs to Niederbühl and was incorporated into Niederbühl as early as 1700. It is located to the southeast at the exit of the Murg valley into the Rhine plain. In the immediate vicinity of the village, Favorite Castle from the 18th century is located in the middle of a stately park. The Murg , the Ooser Landgraben and the Krebsbach flow through Niederbühl . South of Niederbühl was the Landsee , which was drained in the early modern period.
history
A first written mention is made in a document from 1157. In the course of the regional and district reform, Niederbühl was incorporated into Rastatt with Förch on May 1, 1972.
In the Niederbühl area, the track was lowered in August 2017 during the construction of the Rastatt tunnel as part of the expansion and new construction of the Karlsruhe – Basel line , which caused the Rhine Valley Railway to be blocked for several weeks .
