Wintersdorf is a district of the district town of Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Wintersdorf today has around 1936 inhabitants. The place is in the Rhine Valley in the Central Baden part of the Upper Rhine Plain east of the Rhine at 115 m altitude. The next places are Ottersdorf in the northeast, Iffezheim in the southeast and Beinheim on the western bank of the Rhine in Alsace in France . With Plittersdorf and Ottersdorf, Wintersdorf forms the so-called Ried . Wintersdorf (Baden) is on the Steinbourg – Rastatt railway line and the Mannheim – Haguenau railway line .

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 799. On the occasion of the regional and district reform , Wintersdorf was incorporated into the district town of Rastatt on March 31, 1974.

Local council

Of the ten seats in the local council , the CDU has five seats since the 2014 local elections, the SPD four seats and the Free Voters one seat.
