The Oberbrucher BC 09 (officially: Oberbrucher Ballspielclub 09 Heinsberg eV ) is a sports club from the Oberbruch district of Heinsberg . The first soccer team played for 23 years in the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine.

history

The club was founded in 1909 and was promoted to the district class in 1950. However, this was followed by direct relegation. It was not until 1956 that the team was promoted to the district class again, which was later followed by promotion to the regional league . In 1968 the Oberbrucher made it into the Mittelrhein Association League, the highest amateur league at the time. In 1972 the team reached their sporting zenith with fourth place in the association league. In the following years, however, the Oberbrucher did not get beyond mediocrity and in 1978 had to relegate to the state league.

Back in the regional league, Oberbrucher BC came third again in 1972, before the team became runner-up behind VfL Rheinbach in 1988 . With a playoff victory against SpVg Frechen 20 , they were promoted back to the association league, where the team came fourth in 1990 and 1999. In 2001, the team rose as a knocked-down bottom of the table back in the national league. Five years later it went down to the district league, where the Oberbrucher were promptly passed through to the district league A. Thus the Oberbrucher BC 09 has been playing in the district league B since 2015.
