Obere Marktstrasse 12 (Bad Kissingen)
The building at Obere Marktstrasse 12 in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , is one of the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian list of monuments under the number D-6-72-114-72 .
history
The property was built in the early 18th century as an eaves side building with a baroque structure; the forms of construction suggest a date of origin around 1710/20. The elaborate structure of the façade is reminiscent of the former Heussleinschen Hof, which is now the New Town Hall . On the facade of the building is a figure of Maria Immaculata , which was created at the same time as the property.
The property was probably originally a posh residential building. More detailed information about its early use has not survived.
From the second half of the 19th century, the property housed the German House restaurant. One of their hosts, who was called “Gamber” by the Bad Kissingen population, also ran a location in the Marktplatz 11 building . Since a renovation between 1981 and 1983, the former guest room of the German House was initially a pharmacy; Now there is an orthopedic shop and a new restaurant in the former adjoining room.
