The Marktplatz 11 building in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , is located on the town’s market square , is one of the Bad Kissingen monuments and is registered in the Bavarian Monument List under number D-6-72-114-58 .
history
The property, designed as a half-hipped roof , was built in the 18th and 19th centuries. Century. It is reminiscent of the former development of the Bad Kissingen market square. The original concept of the building is no longer recognizable through the glass facade of the ground floor and the false framework of the upper floor.
The building formerly housed a restaurant called the Ratskeller. Their landlord, who was called "Gamber" by the population, also ran a location at Obere Marktstrasse 12 in Bad Kissingen.
Opposite the Ratskeller there was a half-timbered house called “Gambrinus”, which belonged to Marktplatz 11 until 1969. This property was named Gambrinus from Kaspar Wahler, who acquired it in 1904 and named it after Gambrinus , the legendary inventor of beer. In 1907 the Gambrinus was rebuilt. In this context, the Bad Kissingen architect Leonhard Ritter received a smaller order to change the entrance at the east corner - probably his first order in Bad Kissingen. After the demolition in 1969, the Gambrinus was replaced by a simple commercial building.
