Supreme Court of the Country
In the German court constitution , the highest court in one of the five specialized jurisdictions of one of the 16 states is named as the highest court of the country ( upper regional court or, for short, upper court ) .
Upper courts of the federal states of the Federal Republic of Germany are currently (2017)
- the 24 higher regional courts and the Bavarian Supreme Regional Court for ordinary jurisdiction ,
- for labor jurisdiction the 18 regional labor courts ,
- the 15 higher administrative courts for administrative jurisdiction ,
- the 14 regional social courts for social justice ,
- for the financial jurisdiction the 18 financial courts .

The state constitutional courts are outside the specialist jurisdictions .
