Oberisling is a district of Regensburg in Bavaria ( Germany ). It is part of the Oberisling-Leoprechting-Graß district .

history

Oberisling, on the southern outskirts of Regensburg, developed out of a group of farms. On January 1, 1970, the growing town merged with the neighboring community of Graß . The entire district was incorporated into the city of Regensburg on January 1, 1977 as part of the municipal reform. Even though it has been a part of Regensburg since then, Oberisling has retained the appearance of a self-contained small town.

On September 12, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI celebrated as part of his visit to Regensburg a trade fair on the nearby Islinger Feld .
