Trolleybus Tscheboksary is the trolleybus operator in the Chuvash capital of Cheboksary in Russia . The first line was opened on November 7, 1964. The operating company is the Tscheboksarsker Trolleybusbetrieb ( Russian Чебоксарское троллейбусное управление ). In 2007 Cheboksary's trolleybuses carried 190.8 million passengers.

Lines

Given the size of the city, the network is well developed. The first line opened on November 7, 1964 between the Central Station and Red Square. Since then, twenty-one more lines have been opened and some have been closed again. The total length of the network in 1994 was 150.2 km, in 1999 it was 153 kilometers. Since then, however, numerous routes have been extended and some have been completely reopened. Today the network is 165.7 kilometers long. Line 11 is the shortest, the longest is line 1.

Vehicle fleet

Around 220 trolleybuses are in use every day in Cheboksary. A total of 287 trolleybuses are available in three depots, including 274 for passenger transport, six driving school cars, three cars that can be rented for private trips, two transport cars based on the ZiU-9 , a vehicle for technical assistance and a KTG-1 overhead line truck. Most of the cars are of the type ZiU-9, but there are also a few other types, mostly of Russian origin.
