The Pyongyang trolleybus works produce trolleybuses and omnibuses . The company was probably founded in the late 1950s or early 1960s, and its headquarters are in Pyongyang ( North Korea ). Most of the models are sold under the brand name " Ch'ŏllima ". The company's headquarters are located on Saemaul Street in the P'yŏngch'ŏn-guyŏk district ( Ryukkyo-dong 2 ).

Ch'ŏllima 1, 2 (9.11)

The Ch'ŏllima 1 and 2 was probably the manufacturer's first model. It was later renamed to Ch'ŏllima 9.11 in honor of the 4th Party Conference of the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK) on September 11, 1961. It was produced from 1961 to 1970 and held 65 passengers .

Ch'ŏllima 9.25

Ch'ŏllima 9.25

The Ch'ŏllima 9.25 was built between 1963 and 1967 and, unlike its predecessor, was a three-axle articulated bus .

Pyongyang 9.25

Pyongyang 9.25 is a regular bus that runs on LPG . It was probably only manufactured in 1963 and could carry up to 65 people. The body corresponds to that of the Ch'ŏllima 1, 2 and 9.11.

Ch'ŏllima 70

Ch'ŏllima 70

Ch'ŏllima 70 is the name of a bus that was produced from 1970 to 1972. It has 44 seats , a total of 90 people can be transported.

Phipata (Ch'ŏllima 72)

Initially known as Phipata, the model was renamed Ch'ŏllima 72. Production took place between 1972 and 1974.

Pyongyang 73

Pyongyang 73 is the name of a small bus that has been in production since 1973.

Ch'ŏllima 74

The Ch'ŏllima 74 was built in a period of 10 years (1974-1984) and held 80 passengers (34 seats). He was on a postage stamp illustrated by the 1977th

Ch'ŏllima 82

The two-axle Ch'ŏllima 82 was probably made in 1982.

Ch'ŏllima 84

Ch'ŏllima 84 is the name of a type of bus produced from 1984 to the mid-1990s.

Ch'ŏllima 862

Ch'ŏllima 862

With the Ch'ŏllima 862, a three-axle articulated bus with a capacity for 170 passengers was produced. It is 16.8 m long and was built from 1986 to 1990.

Sogiryon, Chongnyonjunwi (Ch'ŏllima 90)

Ch'ŏllima 90

The trolleybus, later known as Ch'ŏllima 90, was developed from 1988 and finally manufactured from 1990 to 2003.

Kwangboksonyon

In the early 90s the Kwangboksonyon was built. It was featured on a 1992 stamp.

Chongnyonho

In 1990 the Chongnyonho was produced.

Chongnyonjunwi (Ch'ŏllima Sonyon)

Chongnyonjunwi (Ch'ŏllima Sonyon)

The Chongnyonjunwi has been built since 1996 and is based on the Karosa C734 . It weighs 10.2 t and can carry 100 people, 31 of which have seats. For unknown reasons, a bus of the same name has been in production since 1999, although it is based on the Karosa B731. Sometimes this is also passed as Ch'ŏllima Sonyon. Some copies serve as service vehicles.

Ch'ŏllima 091

The Ch'ŏllima 091 was developed from 2009. The first prototypes were ready in 2010. Over 150 units have been built since 2011 to date.

More vehicles

There are a number of other vehicles whose names are not yet known. In some cases, conventional Ikarus buses have also been converted to trolleybus operation. There are also a number of service vehicles.

Several models are said to be based on vehicles from Karosa and Ikarus. A new vehicle with a previously unknown name was presented to Kim Jong-un in February 2018 , and the factory site was also renovated beforehand.
