The Oberschwabenklinik gGmbH (OSK) is a hospital association consisting of hospitals in Bad Waldsee , Ravensburg and Wangen im Allgäu in the district of Ravensburg in Oberschwaben and in Allgäu . The largest hospital is the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Ravensburg . The district of Ravensburg has a 95 percent shareholding , the city of Ravensburg 5 percent of the OSK.
History of the clinic network
The clinic association was founded in 1997 and carried out 28,000 inpatient and 25,000 outpatient treatments in 2012. With 2,700 full-time jobs, the Oberschwabenklinik is one of the largest employers in the Ravensburg district. The 14 Emergency Aid Hospital in Weingarten does not belong to the OSK network.
The hospitals in Leutkirch and Isny made losses in 2012. The losses of the Heilig-Geist-Spital in Ravensburg were similarly high in the past as those of the hospital in Leutkirch. On November 9, 2012, the district council of the Ravensburg district decided that the locations in Leutkirch and Isny should be closed. The Leutkirch hospital was closed on June 30, 2013.

Since 2012 the St. Elisabeth Foundation of Bad Waldsee has been running a social pediatric center (SPZ), which is affiliated with the Oberschwabenklinik. At the same time, this foundation has set up a school for sick children in the clinic for pediatric and adolescent medicine.
