Maksymilian Więcek

Maksymilian Więcek (born September 18, 1920 in Baranów Sandomierski , † December 28, 2006 in Kraków ) was a Polish ice hockey player and coach as well as basketball and handball player .

Career

Maksymilian Więcek began his career as a hockey player at the YMCA Krakow, for which he was active from 1935 to 1939. After the Second World War he first played for KS Cracovia from 1945 to 1949 , with whom he won the Polish championship title in 1946, 1947 and 1949 . From 1950 to 1960 he played for Legia Warsaw and was again Polish champion with the team in the first seven years. Most recently he was on the ice again for KS Cracovia.

Later, Więcek worked as a coach for the youth teams of Olsza Krakow and KS Cracovia.

International

For the Polish national ice hockey team Więcek took part in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz . He played a total of 16 international matches for Poland.

For the Polish national handball team he scored eleven goals in four games. He was also a member of the Polish national basketball team .
