Harmonic filter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As harmonic filters are predominantly in the Telecommunications electrical circuits referred to, the unwanted harmonics from the 2nd harmonic of an electrical signal to filter out .

Unwanted harmonics arise from non-linearities in electronic circuits, for example in electronic mixers and in signal processing and signal transmission .

Harmonic filters are implemented as low-pass filters . Harmonic filters can reduce the harmonic distortion of a signal.

term

In power engineering , the term harmonic is used almost exclusively for the higher harmonics, and accordingly the term harmonic filter . Some authors and translators also use the term harmonic in the field of communications engineering, but not the term harmonic filter .
