Object trout

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The “Forelle Object” , also known as the “Alternative Trout Quarter” , was a barracks camp on the site of the former five-lake barracks , then Stadtheide barracks , in Plön / Holstein during World War II . It was the alternative switch point for the naval communications links, previously housed in the Koralle radio station .

The exact location of the barracks camp is difficult to identify. However, historical records show that it was right next to the Suhrer See at the end of the village towards Eutin . Karl Dönitz , the last commander-in-chief of the German armed forces , used the camp as a place of residence together with the last executive government at the beginning of May. The advance of English troops on Plön apparently caused Dönitz to evade to Flensburg - Mürwik on May 2, 1945 , where the so-called Mürwik special area was set up.
