The Suhrer See is a lake in the town of Plön in Schleswig-Holstein , east of the federal highway 76 and south of the Behler See . It is located in Holstein Switzerland , is surrounded by a hilly moraine landscape and part of the Suhrer See nature reserve and the surrounding area .
The Suhrer See has an irregular shape (with two wide bays in the south and northeast) with a maximum length of approx. 2.2 kilometers (in the southwest-northeast direction). It has a size of about 136 hectares and a maximum depth of about 25 meters. In the north of the lake there is a small island about 30 meters in diameter.
The Suhrer See drains into the Langensee / Behler See in the northwest .
Due to its very small catchment area - which also consists of forest in many parts - the Suhrer See is poor in nutrients and has rare vegetation on its banks and in the underwater area.
