In 1984 the Obrecht family founded the Musikhaus Obrasso , which publishes literature for brass instruments. With the construction of the Lucerne Culture and Congress Center (1999), the Obrecht family launched a festival for wind music, the World Band Festival Lucerne . The festival has now become an integral part of Lucerne's cultural life; The 20th edition took place in September 2018. The company Obrasso Classic Events GmbH was founded in 2003 to organize concerts outside the festival. In 2018 the companies, Obrasso-Verlag AG and Obrasso Classic Events GmbH, were transferred to a holding, the Obrasso Group GmbH. With over 40 concert events in Lucerne every year, Obrasso Classic Events GmbH is one of the most important cultural organizers in the KKL Lucerne. With Bern and Zurich Concert locations are recorded.
Productions
The in-house productions include A Circus Symphony, The Golden March Parade, The Most Beautiful Opera Choirs, Folk Christmas and Christmas in Lucerne. The agency is also responsible for the organization and implementation of the World Band Festival Lucerne . From 2007 to 2017 the Moonlight Festival was held on the church square in Zofingen . In 2018 the concert agency received the mandate to realize and host the Grenchen International Music Week.
Artist
The company has founded two orchestras to realize its own concert production.
Classic Festival Brass
In December 2015 the brass ensemble, Classic Festival Brass, made its debut at the KKL Luzern. Ten brass players and two percussionists make up the brass ensemble. Manfred Obrecht is responsible for the musical direction . The concert literature is specially arranged and composed for the ensemble. All works are published by Obrasso-Verlag .
Celebration Pops Orchestra
In December 2017 the Celebration Pops Orchestra made its debut under the direction of Christoph Walter at the KKL Luzern. Gilbert Tinner has been the musical director since 2018. The concert literature of the Celebration Pops Orchestra will be specially arranged for the ensemble. Since the beginning of the concert activity, the orchestra has been accompanied by the close harmony vocal groups, The Sam Singers, and the jazz singer, Fola Dada .
