The Obrecht Pyramid is a pyramid-shaped and around 600 m high mountain on the Bowman coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . On the Joerg Peninsula, it rises on the south bank of Trail Inlet .
The first aerial photographs were taken in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1946 and 1948. On a Chilean map from 1947 it is incorrectly listed as a headland under the name Punta Alberto Obrecht . It is named after Alberto Obrecht (1859-1924), director of the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de Chile (National Astronomical Observatory of Chile ) and in 1906 a member of the Comisión Antarctica Chilena (Chilean Antarctic Committee). The Chilean name was adapted to the actual nature of the property at the instigation of the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1978.
