The Joerg Peninsula is a rugged, mountainous peninsula 35 km long and 5 to 16 km wide on the Bowman Coast in the east of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It extends there in a northeast-southwest direction between the Trail Inlet and the Solberg Inlet .
The peninsula is located in an area that the Australian polar explorer Hubert Wilkins flew over and photographed in 1928 and the American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth in 1935. The aerial photographs were used by the US geographer WLG Joerg (1885–1952), after whom the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the peninsula in 1953, for mapping the southern section. Further mapping and aerial photographs were taken by the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) in 1940. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a geodetic survey of the area in 1947.
