The Solberg Inlet is an ice-covered bay at the Bowman Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between the Joerg Peninsula in the north and the Bermel Peninsula in the south.
The bay was discovered in 1940 by scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Another sighting succeeded participants of the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne . This named the bay after Rear Admiral Thorvald A. Solberg (1894–1964) of the United States Navy , who helped the expedition.
