Ocean Data Acquisition System

An Ocean Data Acquisition System ( ODAS ) is a buoy that is used to collect meteorological and oceanographic data. It is a combination of measuring devices that can be installed like a shipping sign on a buoy floating in the sea. However, this is not primarily used for navigation purposes.

An ODAS bin is yellow and bears the words "ODAS" and an identification number.
