The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) is an organization for international cooperation between navigation agencies. It was founded in 1957 as the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities , French: Association Internationale de Signalisation Maritime (AISM) and was later renamed as a loose association of the authorities responsible for the navigation marks of the member countries.
