Ochava
The Ochava , also Octavo and Ochavo , was a Spanish measure of weight and meant eighth. In Spain and Paraguay the measure was the same.
As gold and silver weight, the conditions were:
- 1 Ochava = ⅛ Onza = 6 Tomines = 3.594 grams
- 1 Onza = 8 Ochavos = 0.02875581 kilograms
- 1 Ochava = 2 Ardames = 72 Granes = 3 3/5 grams
The measure is to be distinguished from the ochavo as a bill of exchange in Castile , Navarre and Morocco .
