Odd Reitan
Odd Reitan (born September 11, 1951 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian entrepreneur. He is co-owner and CEO of the Reitan Group .
Life
Odd Reitan is the son of Ole Reitan and Margit Aarhaug. He studied at the Norges Varehandelshøyskole . In 1972 Reitan and his father founded his first retail business called AS Sjokkpris in Trondheim. In 1979 he founded the Rema 1000 supermarket chain , which became a great success. Until 1990, every place in Norway with a population of more than 10,000 had a Rema 1000 branch. In the 90s the chain expanded to Denmark , Sweden , Poland , Hungary and Slovakia . The Reitan Group, to which Rema 1000 belongs, is also active in the real estate business.

The American magazine Forbes estimated his fortune in March 2019 to 6.1 billion US dollars , which he was the richest person in Norway.
Private
Reitan has been married to Hilde Undlien since 2018 and lives in Trondheim. He has two sons (Ole Robert Reitan and Magnus Reitan) from a previous marriage who work for the Reitan Group today.
