Oddmund Ingvald Jensen (born September 26, 1928 in Sørfold , † March 6, 2011 in Lillehammer ) was a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Jensen, who started for the Alvdal IL and the Lillehammer Skiklub, took 17th place over 30 km and 14th place over 50 km at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in March 1958 in Lahti he ran to 24th place over 15 km, 22nd place over 30 km and fourth place with the relay. The following year he was third at the Svenska Skidspelen with the relay and in 1960 second at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in the 50 km run. At the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , he came in 11th place over 50 km and tenth place over 30 km. At the end of February 1962 he achieved 15th place over 50 km at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane . In 1964 he took second place with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen. At Norwegian championships he reached four times the second and third place and won in 1959 in the run over 50 km and in 1958 and 1959 with the relay of Alvdal IL. He also won the Birkebeinerrennet five times (1955, 1957, 1958, 1962, 1965). After his career, he coached the Norwegian national cross-country skiing team from 1964 to 1978.
