Odyssey 5 is a Canadian science fiction series, which focuses on the crew of the space shuttle Odyssey to NASA - Commander Chuck Taggart ( Peter Weller ) is. During a routine mission in space, they witness how the earth is completely destroyed. Rescued from death by an alien who calls himself the seeker , the crew is sent five years into the past to prevent the end of the earth. Back in the past, the five-person crew is getting more and more out of the creepy events.

Broadcast mode and production

The television series was originally designed to have five seasons in terms of plot. The series was broadcast in the US between June 2002 and October 2004 on the US television channel Showtime . The first 14 episodes ran very successfully until the broadcasting was canceled without giving a reason and production of the series was discontinued. The remaining six episodes were not broadcast until October 2004. Even massive protests by fans couldn't change the end of the series.

In Germany , Odyssey 5 was first broadcast in a synchronized version on Sat.1 between June 6, 2004 and October 24, 2004 . In 2007, Odyssey 5 was repeated from June 10 to October 22 in the morning program on Saturdays and Sundays between four and five in the morning and for the second time from January 3, 2009 on Sat.1.
