Ofelia Ramón

Ofelia Ramón (born August 24, 1924 in Caracas ; † September 16, 2014 there ) was a Venezuelan singer.

Ramón began her musical career in 1940 at Radio Estudios Universo under the pseudonym Blanca Nieves . She toured through Argentina, the USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Cuba, among others. The Venezuelan magazine Figuras de la Farándula selected her in 1947 as the best interpreter of Latin American music. With the Orquesta Típica Nacional and the Conjunto Típico she recorded several LPs. On the album Aires Tachirenses she sang Brisas del Torbes , a classic Bambuco by her brother Luis Felipe Ramón . Her brother José Delfín Ramón , a member of the Orquesta Típica Nacional , often worked with her as a guitar accompanist.
