2008 Asian Summer Biathlon Open Championships
The 2008 Asian Open Summer Biathlon Championships took place from October 8-14 , 2008 in Cholponata , Kyrgyzstan . They were held in the local biathlon stadium. Athletes from four countries, Russia , Uzbekistan , Kazakhstan and the host country took part. Athletes from the host country only started in the junior competitions taking place at the same time. The competitions were held in the cross-country discipline . For both men and women, three competitions were held in the disciplines sprint, pursuit and individual.
The most successful nation was Uzbekistan, who, with Ruslan Nasirov, also won all three men's competitions. Dilafruz Imomhusanowa won another title in the women's category . The other two titles went to starters from Kazakhstan, Jelena Khrustaljowa and Natalija Issashenko .
