West coast open channel

The Open Channel West Coast is a radio station of the OKSH-Anstalt , whose broadcasts are made independently by citizens residing in Schleswig-Holstein or Hamburg and who are at least 18 years old. Minors require the written consent of their parents or legal guardian. In order to be able to produce radio broadcasts with the equipment of the OC and also to be allowed to use the studios, a user registration is required.

The West Coast Open Channel was a facility of the Independent State Broadcasting and New Media Corporation (ULR). The open channels in Schleswig-Holstein were separated from the ULR on October 1, 2006 and became an independent OKSH - Anstalt d.ö.R. continued. On December 6, 2006, Peter Willers, formerly the ULR's representative for the open channel, was elected by the OKSH's advisory board as its head for seven years.

Outdoor studios

The open channel has several outdoor studios. The first outdoor studio of the OK West Coast was opened in Husum in September 1997 . In the meantime, the users of the OK West Coast have seven outdoor studios, one on Amrum and two on Föhr .
