history

prehistory

Since December 16, 1991, when OK Kiel started , the Independent State Agency for Broadcasting and New Media (ULR) was the sponsor of the Open Channel in Schleswig-Holstein. The intention of the state governments of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg to merge the media companies of both countries to form Medienanstalt Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein (MA HSH) on March 1, 2007 and to supervise this joint institution with uniform regulatory tasks, resulted in a reorganization of the open channel became necessary.

Since September 2006

On September 15, 2006, the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament decided to transfer the Open Canal into an independent sponsorship, the public-law institution Open Canal Schleswig-Holstein . The Offener Kanal Schleswig-Holstein AdöR started its work on October 1st, 2006. In cooperation with the cultural office of the Schleswig-Holstein Student Union and the State Association of Youth and Film SH, the Schleswig-Holstein Open Canal has been organizing the "Only 48 hours" film competition every year since 2017.
