The Officer Basin (ger .: Officer Basin ) is an approximately 410,000 square kilometers large sedimentary basins of the Australian craton (mainland core), the bulk of which in Western Australia and extending as far as South Australia extends. It is named after Officer Creek , a watercourse that flows through a small section of the basin.

In the sedimentary basin there are marine and non-marine deposits up to 10 km thick, which were formed from the Neoproterozoic to the late Paleozoic . Paleozoic components have only been found in South Australia . With the other nearby sedimentary basins, the Amadeus Basin and Georgina Basin , formed at the same time, it is believed to have been part of the Centralian Superbasin in Australia, which has been fragmented by various sequences of tectonic activity.
