The Nördlicher Grund offshore wind farm is a planned wind farm in the German exclusive economic zone of the North Sea . The area encompassing an area of ​​55 km² is 84 kilometers west of the island of Sylt , the water depths there are between 21 and 33 meters.

After an initial application by the Nördlicher Grund GmbH consortium on December 10, 2001, submission of a revised application on August 22, 2003 and later additional documents, the construction and operation of 80 wind turbines was started on December 1, 2005  by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH ) approved. The permit expires if the construction work for the installation of the systems is not started by December 31, 2016 [out of date] .
