Okane ga Nai ( Japanese お 金 が な い っ , dt. "No Money"), also known as No Money , is a series of novels by Hitoyo Shinozaki that was published from 1999 to 2014 and was also implemented as a manga , anime and radio play series . It describes an erotic relationship between two men and belongs to the Yaoi genre.

Yukiya Ayase is an eighteen year old university student. His only relative, his cousin Tetsuo, sells him at auction to the highest bidder to pay off his debts. The wealthy Somuku Kanou, whom Ayase seems to have known from before, makes the highest bid and suggests that Ayase can freely buy himself by offering his body.

novel
The novel series is written by Hitoyo Shinozaki, while the illustrations are by Tōru Kōsaka. The first four volumes were published from 1999 to 2001 by Oakla Shuppan , after which the series switched to Gentōsha Comics , which continued with the fifth in 2003 and the first four volumes were reprinted in 2004. The eighth and so far last volume was published on March 26, 2014, seven years after the seventh volume.
Manga
Oakla also published a manga adaptation by Tōru Kōsaka, to which an anthology ( Tankōbon ) was published in January 2002 . Since 2003 Gentōsha has published the manga series in the bimonthly magazine Lynx , with the chapters being summarized in 10 volumes so far. The last chapter is due to appear on December 9, 2014 (issue 1/2015), so that the series will comprise 11 volumes.
German publishers have refused to publish the manga because of Ayase's underage appearance.
Anime
From February to December 2007 the animation studio Lilix ( リ リ ク ス , Ririkusu ; also transcribed as Yricc) adapted the work as a 4-part original video animation on DVD. The anime was directed by Makoto Sokuza , while the character design was created by Sawako Yamamoto .
In this country, the OVA was released on DVD under the title No Money by the German anime label Kazé Deutschland .
