Okean Elzy ( Ukrainian Океан Ельзи Okean Elsy ; translated in German: Elsas Ozean), short OE , is a rock band from Ukraine . It is considered a cult band.
The band of four friends in the western Ukrainian city on 12 October 1994 Lviv (dt. Lemberg ) was founded. The founding members Svyatoslaw Wakarchuk , Denys Hlinin, Jurij Chustochka and Pavlo Hudimow knew each other from the band "Klan tyschi" (Клан тиші), founded in 1991.
