The Oktroihäuschen (also: Altes Oktroihaus ) is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The octroi house was built after 1870 to collect city tariffs and as an apartment for the customs collector. With the expansion of the city of Darmstadt, the octroil line was moved away from the old city gates to the outskirts in 1871; in the north to the route of the Odenwaldbahn . The octroi house is the only one of a series of identical customs houses that has been preserved.
The single-storey plastered eaves building has a slate-covered gable roof .
Monument protection
The late Classicist building was declared a cultural monument for architectural and city-historical reasons .

The name Octroi house was derived from Octroy .
