Ola Salo
Ola Salo , actually Rolf Ola Anders Svensson (born February 19, 1977 in Avesta , Sweden ) is a Swedish singer and musician . Salo is the singer of the Swedish internationally successful glam rock band The Ark .
Life
Salo comes from a Protestant pastor's family. In 1996 he changed his family name from Svensson to Salo , which together with the first name results in a palindrome . He believed at the time that the apocalypse was near and that it was time to try to save as many people as possible. In his opinion, the best means of doing this is an ark , hence the band name The Ark . In 2007 he and his band took part in Melodifestivalen and as a Swedish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 . With his solo album Wilderness , released on May 20, 2015 , he reached number 2 in the Swedish album charts . Salo is openly bisexual and lives in Växjö .
