Ole Olsen (comedian)

John Siguard "Ole" Olsen (born November 6, 1892 in Peru , Indiana , † January 26, 1963 in Albuquerque , New Mexico ) was an American comedian , actor and author . He is best known as the stage and film partner of Chic Johnson .

Life

In 1912, Ole Olsen graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in music and began looking around the vaudeville scene. There he met Chic Johnson in 1914 when they were playing in the same band. With Ernest Breuer (music) they wrote the humorous song Oh! Gee, Oh! Gosh, oh! I'm in love .

They first appeared together in Chicago in 1914 as Olsen and Johnson and continued this collaboration until Chic Johnson had to quit due to illness in the late 1950s.

Ole Olsen was married twice. With his first wife Lillian he had three children: JC, Joy and Moya, who married the Learjet founder William P. Lear . In 1961 he married Eileen Maria Osthoff.
