The lyrics of Oh! Gee, Oh! Gosh, oh! I'm in Love came from the comedian duo Olsen & Johnson , who first introduced the song in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1923 . The humorous song became popular mainly through Eddie Cantor , also through his appearances with the Ziegfeld Follies . Fred Astaire sang the number in the stage musical Stop Flirting in 1923 . Music magazine Variety added the song to their Hit Parade of a Half Century list .
