Oleh Mejdanowytsch Babajew ( Ukrainian Олег Мейданович Бабаєв ; born October 21, 1965 in Kursk , Soviet Union ; † July 26, 2014 in Kremenchuk ) was a Ukrainian politician .

Life

Babayev was a member of the Verkhovna Rada for the All-Ukrainian Association "Fatherland" .

After he was elected mayor of Kremenchuk in 2010 , he resigned from the All-Ukrainian "Fatherland" association. He held the office of mayor until his death. On July 26, 2014, Babayev was shot dead by strangers near his home.

In addition to his political activities, Babayev was the president of two football clubs .
