Oleg Sapronow ( Russian Олег Сапронов , born January 17, 1970 ) is a Russian handball player .

The 1.95 m tall and 113 kg heavy handball goalkeeper initially played in Russia. It wasn't until 2000 that he decided to move abroad. His choice fell on the French club Meaux Handball. From 2001 he ran on in the first and second French league for UMS Pontault-Combault HB . When he was offered a contract reduced by 40%, he ended his career in 2011. But already in October 2011 he returned to goal to replace the injured goalkeeper of Tremblay-en-France Handball . Since 2012 he has been playing for the second division Lanester HB.

With the Russian national team , Oleg Sapronov was world champion at the 1993 World Cup. Between 1991 and 1995 he played 39 international matches .
