Oleg Viktorovich Vislyov
Oleg Wiktorowitsch Wischljow ( Russian Олег Викторович Вишлёв ; born September 16, 1954 in Lyubino near Omsk , Soviet Union ) is a Russian historian.
Biography and scientific work
From 1971 to 1973 he was a cadet at the Military Political College of the Army in Novosibirsk . In 1978 he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Lomonosov State University in Moscow , then he was an aspirant at the Institute of General History of the AdW of the USSR . In 1983 he received his doctorate. hist. on the topic "Evolution of the socio-economic program of the FDP (1948 to 1971)". From 1981 to 2002 Wischljow was a research assistant, 1985 to 1991 scientific secretary, at the same time deputy head of the Center for German History at the same institute from 1988 to 1990, and from 1986 to 1990 scientific secretary of the Historians' Commission of the USSR and the GDR. Since 1991 he has been a research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation . Under the direction of Hans-Adolf Jacobsen , he worked in the Political Archives of the Foreign Office and at the Department of Political Science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Bonn and in 2000 at the German Resistance Memorial Center in Berlin.
Wischljow was editor in 2002, in 2005 he became editor-in-chief for general history and in 2008 chief editor of the scientific publishing house "Great Russian Encyclopedia" in Moscow. He is the author of several research and document publications on German-Soviet relations from 1939 to 1941 as well as numerous encyclopedia articles on German politicians, commanders, parties and organizations. He repeatedly initiated the publication of important articles by German historians in Russian scientific journals and was their translator.
He was also the scientific editor of the official publication of the correspondence between President Boris Yeltsin and the heads of state and heads of international organizations.
