Oleksandr Wladyslavowytsch Tkachenko ( Ukrainian Олександр Владиславович Ткаченко ; born January 22, 1966 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian journalist, media producer and long-time chairman of the 1 + 1 Media group.

Life

Oleksandr Tkachenko was born in Kiev in 1966 . He received a diploma in journalism from the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev in 1990 .

Oleksandr Tkachenko began his work as a journalist as editor-in-chief and presenter of the youth program on the national radio (1988–1991).

In 1991, Oleksandr started working at the international news agency Reuters in Ukraine . Since 1994 he has hosted his own weekly news program “Epilog”.

In the 1990s, Oleksandr Tkachenko began producing television programs for Ukrainian media such as Inter and UA: First . In December 1996 he moved to 1 + 1, where he established the news program “TSN”.

In 1999, Oleksandr became the chairman of the Novy Canal TV program . With his help, it becomes the third most popular program in Ukraine.

In the 2000s, Oleksandr held senior positions at ICTV, Novyi Kanal and STB. Since August 2008 he has been the CEO of the 1 + 1 media group, which includes the programs 1 + 1, 2 + 2, TET and PlusPlus.

Oleksandr is one of the first chief executive officers of the Ukrainian media industry to focus on corporate social responsibility. In 2017 in particular, the first report on media social responsibility was presented.

According to consistent Ukrainian media reports, Tkachenko is to be built up by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj as the next mayor of the capital Kiev.

Awards

Under the direction of Oleksandr Tkachenko, the 1 + 1 show receives national and international awards every year. In 2018 she received 43 of a total of 73 national media awards Teletriumph , along with the gold and silver prizes from European PromaxBDA Europe Awards.

According to the "TOP-100" Ukrainian chairman ranking of delo.ua , Oleksandr Tkachenko is consistently among the top three executives in the national media.

Citizen Activities

In 2005, Oleksandr Tkachenko, together with the Ukrainian journalist Andrij Shevchenko , initiated the process of establishing public broadcasting in Ukraine. In addition, Oleksandr is the founder of the club of the business “When Show meets Business”. Since March 2018, he brings together experts and progressive Ukrainian executives.

Political activity

He was number 9 of the Sluha narodu ( Servant of the People ) party in the 2019 parliamentary elections in Ukraine and, after the party's successful election, became a member of the Verkhovna Rada .
