Sluha narodu ( Ukrainian Слуга народу , in German servant of the people ) is a political party in Ukraine . She is the party of the winner of the 2019 presidential election in Ukraine , Volodymyr Zelenskyi , the 6th President of Ukraine .

The party founded on March 31, 2018 is the successor organization of the Партія Рішучих змін Partija Rischutschych smin (German: Party of decisive changes ). The first party chairman was the lawyer of the film studio founded by Selenskyj "Студія Квартал-95" (Studio Kvartal 95) Ivan Bakanov ( Іван Геннадійович Баканов ). When Bakanov entered civil service at the end of May 2019, Zelenskyi's political confidante Dmytro Razumkov succeeded him as party leader.

The name of the party “Servants of the People” ( Russian Sluga naroda ) is borrowed from the Ukrainian political comedy series of the same name , in which Volodymyr Zelensky plays a teacher who accidentally became President of Ukraine.

In the 2019 general election , the party received 43.16% of the vote and won the majority of direct seats, giving it an absolute majority of MPs. This enabled the servants of the people to form the Honcharuk Cabinet , the first sole government in the history of independent Ukraine, in which, however, both Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and 14 of the 17 ministers are independent .
