The opposition bloc (OB) is a 23 April 2010 as "the driving force" founded political party in Ukraine . The opposition bloc was only founded in September 2014 as a list of various smaller parties.
The participating forces share their EU-skeptical and pro-Russian stance. The US lobbyist Paul Manafort helped found it in 2014 . Participants are the Ukraine Party - Forward! , The "Development Party of Ukraine," the All-Ukrainian association "center" and the parties' work Ukraine "," New Politics "and" state neutrality. "Chairmen are Yuri Boiko , former Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of the Party of Regions and Borys Kolesnikov , former Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Party of Regions. Boiko joined the PR in the 2014 presidential election after being expelled from the party and received 0.19%.
In the 2014 election campaign, the party advocated a peaceful solution to the Donbass conflict.
In 2018 there was a split in the party, Jurij Boiko , Viktor Medvedchuk and also Vadim Rabinovytsch founded their own party, Opposition Platform - For Life , which half of the former MPs of the opposition bloc joined. The opposition platform takes more radical views than the opposition bloc.
