Olepa neumuthi is a nocturnal butterfly from the subfamily of the bear moth (Arctiinae), which was discovered in 2011 by the German entomologist Hans Helmuth Neumuth (1942–2013). The butterfly is native to the Indochinese peninsula and was classified in 2012 by the French entomologist Georges ERJ Orhant. Olepa neumuthi was named after its discoverer. The caterpillars of this moth feed on the wonder tree ( Ricinus communis ). This is noteworthy as the poison ricinin contained in the seeds of this plantis considereda highly effective insecticide .
