Olesja Syrewa ( Russian Олеся Сырева , born November 25, 1983 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian medium and long-distance runner.

Sports career

In 2002 at the Junior World Championships she won bronze over 1500 and 3000 meters. She won gold at the 2005 Universiade. At the 2006 World Indoor Championships she was fifth.

2013 doping ban

She won silver at the European Indoor Championships in 2011 . However, due to a violation of the doping rules, she had to return the medal and was banned for two years. The ban was in effect from February 1, 2013 and all Syreva results since March 3, 2011 have been deleted.
