Olev Sau

Olev Sau (born August 10, 1929 in Kaunispe , Torgu rural community , Saaremaa island , Estonia ; † September 20, 2015 ) was an Estonian composer .

Life

Olev Sau completed his studies in choral conducting with Jüri Variste in 1960 and in composition with Heino Eller at the Tallinn State Conservatory in 1967 . From 1951 to 1961 Olev Sau was a singer in the renowned State Academic Male Choir of the Estonian SSR ( Estonian ENSV Riiklik Akadeemiline Meeskoor ). From 1961 he worked as a music teacher, choir director and composer.

  • Alistamatus ( oratorio , 1984)

In addition, Olev Sau wrote numerous other choral works, song cycles, chamber music and works for organ.
