Kaunispe

Kaunispe (also Kaunispä , German Kaunispäh ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Torgu ) in the Saare district .
Population and location
The place on the west coast of the Sõrve peninsula has 22 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located 33 km southwest of the island's capital Kuressaare .
port
There has been a small port in Kaunispe since 1964. It was expanded in 1973/74 and was used particularly by fisheries for catching flounder .

- Kaunispe's most famous son is the Estonian composer Olev Sau (1929–2015), who was born in Kaunispe.
