Pammana (German Pammerort ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Leisi ) in the Saare district .

Population, history and location

The village has 24 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It was first mentioned in a document in 1561.

Pammana is located in a wooded area on the northern tip of the peninsula of the same name (Pammana poolsaar) . The headland is also the northernmost point of Saaremaa Island.

The two uninhabited islands Pakulaid and Pihlalaid are located northwest of the cape in Soela väin (German Sele-Sund ) between the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa .
