(2076) Jacchia ( 1976 DB ; 1972 GH 1 ) is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 23 February 1976 by RE McCrosky , Cheng Shao-Yuan , G. Schwartz and JH Bulger at the Oak Ridge Observatory was discovered.
designation
The asteroid was named after Luigi Giuseppe Jacchia (1910-1996), who had been a research fellow at Harvard College Observatory and physicist at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory since 1939 .
