Ratla (German Rattjall ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Leisi ) in the Saare district .

The village has 54 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located 33 kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kuressaare . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1442. The Estonian writer Jaan Oks (1884–1918) was born in Ratla . There is a large boulder in the forest near Ratla . It probably served as a sacrificial stone in earlier times .
